Walker Supercup Season Comes to an Early End

In the days leading up to the 11th round of the GPVWC Supercup season at Monza, Ryan Walker came to the team with unfortunate news that this would be his last race of the season. Commitments else where will unfortunately see to it that as of now he is no longer a Supercup driver in 2013. Brandon Warren of Rapid Raptor Racing in the Formula Challenge Series will be moved up to the Supercup to fill the vacant seat. Walker will be leaving behind 7 podiums in 11 races and an 8 point gap behind Oscar Hardwick for the championship lead which he only just gave up in the most recent outing at Monza.

“First off I would like to say a big thank you to Matt for giving me the chance to race in the Supercup this season especially with Satellite Racing as I enjoy racing with them. They are always there when I need help with testing and feel bad for having to give up racing in the Supercup but I have to put real life commitments first sadly which means I can’t do the GPVWC Supercup anymore.

Also I have to say a big thank you to David as he has been a big influence with my current form and the podiums I have collected this year. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t of been where I am in the championship.

I also wish the very best of luck for the rest of the season to the other Supercup teams and drivers.” – Ryan Walker

“Ryan lived up to every expectation we had for him all season. It is sad to see him go but we fully understand his situation and are extremely happy for him. He’ll still be with us keeping the team entertained and awake during our endurance races and where ever else we go, just unavailable for the GPVWC at this current time. We know Brandon very well so we’re not concerned about messing with the team chemistry and he should fit right into Ryans’ seat well.” – Matt Strand

Next up is Round 12 from the always magnificent Spa Francorchamps Circuit.
